    Its so amazing to see how God brings special children to special people. You are really blessed to be that special person. Christian is such an adorable child. God is working on Christian to show His power and glory. Continue to have that strength and faith. God bless.

    I have been following you on Facebook. I too have a child who has faced a life of stares and mean comments for the past 25 years. Brandon had brain cancer at age 6. He is now 31, mentally is about 7 years old. Doesn't look "normal" but he is my hero, the most amazing human being i know.
    I very much love and respect you and your family for sharing your amazing story of love.
    I work for an oculoplastic surgeon and have had so many amazing patients over the years who have faced such hurdles and many, many surgeries. Always know we were given true angels here on earth as our very own. We are the truly very blessed parents. Each time I see an update on Christian it makes me smile to see such a beautiful little angel growing and developing in to a perfect little man and an amazing big brother.     I have just started following Christian's story about a week or so ago after coming across a share from someone in newsfeed. I have to say, I absolutely adore this little man. Surgery As Christian Gets Older

For your enjoyment, I have scattered some photos throughout this blog of a stop the boys and I made on Wednesday. These icicles were hanging all over the rocks lining the road on our drive home from therapy. It's been arctic cold temps here so these have formed from the water expanded as it freezes and being forced out of the rocks. Chandler kept asking me about them as we drove, and Christian was curious as to what we were talking about, so we just stopped and explored them. Miracle at 705 Riley Drive

Miracles still happen. I know because I am raising one. They are not just something in the Bible that happened long ago. They are not just wishes we make when we blow out our birthday candles (although that's lots of fun to do.) Miracles still happen. I know because today I witnessed one. Today was surgery number 6 for my sweet little Christian. I have been dreading it. It never gets easier and each time is always a little different, so there is only so much to be said for "preparing." How do you prepare yourself to place your entire life into the hands of a stranger in scrubs? How do you prepare yourself to see the love of your life scared, confused, and in pain, all while you are totally helpless to make it stop? That's kind of what it's like each time. If it Was Easy

Last week we visited Tennessee School for the Blind. This was a trip that I have been hearing about for about a year. I’ve known it was coming, but I had no idea what to expect. There was some anticipation with a touch of dread mixed in about this trip.  The purpose of this visit was an evaluation. That single word is too small to really describe what all took place, really. Christian was evaluated on pretty much everything. His vision was checked (no brainer, but they did have an ophthalmologist just take a look, to confirm his vision impairment. It’s always good to have it documented on paper.) The school AKA TSB also brought in physical, occupational, and speech therapists, vision teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, assistive technology experts, a psychologist, and just an entire array of specialists to do this evaluation.
